Approach: We begin by diving into essential characteristics, roles and responsibilities of equity-centered leadership. We facilitate a process of critical and reflexive inquiry around our individual identities and positionalities within a socio-historical and cultural context. Equity-centered leadership requires taking the time to reflect on personal relationships with issues of equity and inclusivity. It is critical that leaders become aware of how identity and experiences shape our approaches to equity issues. We cannot disrupt inequities or dismantle racism if we do not understand our relationship to them.
