ORGANIZATIONAL ASSESSMENT
1:1 team member conversations - We facilitate conversations with each team member (when possible) for 30-60 minutes to get a more detailed and nuanced understanding of the issues at hand and each team member’s perspective.
Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI): This is a great tool with which to start the process. In a nutshell, the IDI provides information about an individual and/or team’s ability to communicate across cultural differences.
The IDI is a tool that assesses an individual’s ability to communicate across what they perceive as cultural difference. In essence, the IDI measures an individual’s intercultural competence in a given and specified context
The IDI is a tool that allows us to better understand how our lived experiences have informed our cultural lens and our ability to navigate cultural differences and intercultural interactions
We take the IDI further and center it within racial equity and the culture of power, explicitly naming where power lives and how it flows through our bodies depending on our socially constructed identities and various positionalities that we hold
An IDI Qualified Administrator (QA) is an individual who has been trained and is qualified to facilitate group and individual IDI debriefs and coaching (sessions that breakdown and explain the IDI and results) as well as follow-up training associated with the IDI
We acknowledge the origins and challenges of quantitative tools that assess complex individuals and aim to use this tool only to provide insight as to how our lived experiences have informed our cultural lens(es)
Services Provided with the IDI:
Individual Assessment and Debrief: All individuals who take the IDI are provided a 1-2 hour debrief by a Qualified Administrator
Group Assessment and Debrief: A group profile is created for teams who engage in the IDI. Each group is provided a debrief that further explains the IDI, its history, validity, and the ways in which it can be used. This debrief can be tailored depending on group needs and desires
Continued facilitation and coaching using the IDI results to focus on intentionally increasing a group or individual’s IDI orientation

Baseline/benchmarking/needs individual: Development; Leadership coaching
Classroom/team: Training, classroom learning; Team/group development
